A Festival Of Design

Vienna will be transformed into a design hub for ten days as this event - held in cooperation with numerous partners including Vienna museums, manufacturers, businesses and designers from around the world - plays out. Vienna Design Week focuses on a broad range of places and approaches that share a uniquely Viennese angle, while steadily expanding an international network of partners - notably in the Central and Eastern European design scene. The event looks behind the finished article as it sheds light on some of the creative and production processes that go into creating the items on show. The line-up includes exhibitions, installations, discussions, films and parties as well as the popular Passionswege paths which take visitors on a design-related journey of discovery around the city.

Vienna Design Week covers everything from classic to contemporary creations, artistic intervention and curated exhibitions, design galleries and museums, and spans both domestic and international design. This year Vienna's 17th district, Hernals, will be one of the main centers. The many projects and presentations in Hernals are aimed at creating an enduring legacy for this part of the capital.
